Jordanian minister: Egyptian gas deliveries to resume in 10 days

Energy Minister Khalid Tuqan says that gas deliveries to his country, and thus to Israel, will soon be restored after Tuesday's attack.

Jordanian Energy Minister Khalid Tuqan says, "The Egyptian side is expected to repair the gas pipeline within seven to ten days before resuming supplies to Jordan."

On Tuesday, gas pipelines in Sinai were bombed for the fourth time since February, when an uprising toppled former president Hosni Mubarak and saw power handed over to a military council, again cutting deliveries to Israel and Jordan.

Israel imports 40% of its natural gas from Egypt through East Mediterranean Gas Company (EMG), and Egyptian gas power 80% of Jordan's electricity production.
