Alvarion wins Maryland deal

Bloosurf will provide rural broadband services in eastern Maryland between the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean.

4G network solutions provider Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR) will supply its 4Motion network solution to Bloosurf Inc. for deployment in rural counties in eastern Maryland between the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Alvarion did not disclose the size of the contract.

Bloosurf will provide broadband services to 126,000 people, 6,000 businesses and 351 community institutions. The company awarded Federal Stimulus funds to bring broadband educational, residential and commercial customers services to the area.

Alvarion's share price fell 0.8% on Nasdaq yesterday to $1.45, giving a market cap of $90 million, and was unchanged at NIS 4.99 in early trading on the TASE today.
