The number of available jobs rose by 2.3% to 69,200 in July 2010 from 67,700 in June, and 12% more than in July 2010, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today. The rate of growth slowed sharply from the 33% increase in the first quarter.
The ratio between the number of available jobs and the number of employees was 3% in July, unchanged since the beginning of the year.
The largest number of available jobs in May-July were for salespersons and sales reps, averaging 7,400 a month, 11% of all available jobs. In second place were waiters, at 4,580 available jobs a month; followed by engineers (4,142 available jobs), including 1,800 available jobs for computer engineers.
