Attunity buys RepliWeb for $7.8m

Attunity: The strategic acquisition will turn us into a leading software vendor of replication solutions.

Real-time data integration software developer Attunity Inc. (Bulletin Board: ATTUF) has acquired RepliWeb Inc., a Florida-based company founded by Israelis, for $7.8 million. RepliWeb develops enterprise file replication and managed file transfer technologies. The company posted a profit on $8 million revenue in 2010.

Attunity said that the strategic acquisition would turn it into a leading software vendor of replication solutions for the access, sharing, and distribution of both data and content across heterogeneous IT platforms in enterprise data centers and cloud environments.

Attunity chairman and CEO Shimon Alon said, "This transaction will nearly double our revenues by the end of 2012 and accelerate our organic growth."

RepliWeb founder and CEO Yossi Moriel said, "The combination of our products, technology, and vision represents a unique offering to the markets we serve."

Attunity's share price closed at $0.64 on Wall Street yesterday, giving a market cap of $21 million.
