Ofer Kirzner buys 11% of gas exploration co Israel Opportunity

Kirzner has returned to the Israeli capital market after several years of business in the Ukrainian real estate market.

Israeli businessman Ofer Kirzner has acquired 11.15% of gas exploration company Israel Opportunity Energy Resources LP (TASE: ISOP.L) at a value of NIS 17 million. Kirzner has returned to the Israeli capital market after several years of business in the Ukrainian real estate market.

Israel Opportunity owns several offshore gas and gas exploration licenses. Last week, it announced that the Petroleum Council recommends approving the transfer of the transfer rights to six licenses near Leviathan held by Pelagic Exploration Company, to Israel Opportunity and its partners. Halman Aldubi Investment House owners Ronny Halman and Uri Aldubi floated Israel Opportunity last year.

Kirzner, an Israeli citizen, resides in Kiev.

Israel Opportunity's share price rose 4% by mid-afternoon today to NIS 0.286, giving a market cap of NIS 128 million.
