Forbes: Silvan Shalom is Israel's richest politician

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is only in fifth place, while Defense Minister Ehud Barak is ranked third.

"Forbes Israel" ranks Minister of Galilee and Negev Development Silvan Shalom as Israel's wealthiest politician, with a fortune estimated at NIS 167 million. He owns a house in Ramat Gan worth NIS 15 million.

Minister of Justice Yaakov Ne'eman is in second place, with a fortune estimated at NIS 100 million. He lives in Jerusalem's prestigious Talbiyeh neighborhood. Minister of Defense Ehud Barak is third place, with a fortune estimated at NIS 70 million. He owns a NIS 22 million apartment in Tel Aviv's Akirov Towers. MK Meir Sheetrit (Kadima) is in fourth place, with a fortune estimated at NIS 55 million. He owns a house in Yavne worth NIS 6 million.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in fifth place, with a fortune estimated at NIS 38 million. He owns a house in Caesarea.

Minister of Intelligence and Atomic Energy Dan Meridor, who has a fortune estimated at NIS 30 million, and MK Isaac Herzog (Labor), with a fortune estimated at several million shekels and a NIS 12 million house in the north Tel Aviv neighborhood of Zahala, also made the "Forbes Israel" list.
