The foreign exchange reserves totaled $77.1 billion

Israel's foreign exchange reserves rose by $2.23 billion in January 2012, to $77.1 billion, the Bank of Israel reported today.

The Bank of Israel attributed the increase to an upward revaluation of $850 million, government transfers from abroad of $1.35 billion, and $26 million from private sector transactions.

The foreign currency reserves are at their highest level since August 2011.
