Energix to invest in wind energy in Poland

The company will invest up to €25 million in two wind energy projects.

Nathan Hetz and Mozi Wertheim are planning to greatly expand their wind energy business through Alony Hetz Property and Investments Ltd. (TASE: ALHE) subsidiary Energix Renewable Energies Ltd. (ENRG). The company plans to enter the wind energy business in Poland at an investment of up to €25 million, after signing an agreement with a partner to build two 40-megawatt wind energy projects in the country.

Energix will own 60% of the projects, provided that agreement is reached on their location, and cost, which could reach €140-150 million at €1.8 million per megawatt. The company said that, on the basis of 30% shareholders' equity for each project, in which it holds 60%, it estimates its investment at €25 million.

Energix's share price has fallen 20% since it held its IPO in May 2011. In its financial report for the third quarter of 2011, it said that it owned 30 solar energy projects with a total capacity of 1.5 megawatts.

Energix's share price was unchanged today at NIS 0.94, giving a market cap of NIS 129 million.
