DSPG chipset powers new Gigaset system

Gigagset's N720 solution connects up to 20 base stations and 100 handsets.

European DECT cordless phone manufacturer Gigaset Communications is using DSP Group Inc.'s (Nasdaq: DSPG)s XciteR VoIP chipset solution to power its new N720 DECT IP Multicell System. The product launch is at CeBIT 2012 on March 6-10, 2012 in Hanover, Germany.

The scalable N720 solution connects up to 20 base stations and 100 handsets. Leveraging DECT roaming and handover features supported by Gigaset's advanced enterprise DECT software, the N720 enables employees to move freely around their building or campus while making phone calls. The system also supports high definition sound performance to ensure clear, studio-quality sound. The N720 is built with power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, thereby requiring no additional plug points.

"The release of the N720 multicell system is another important step in bringing our DECT and VoIP expertise to the corporate arena," said Ludger Rathmer, vice president of Product Development at Gigaset. "By teaming up with DSP Group, the world leader in DECT and VoIP chipsets, we now offer SMEs the best of both technologies at Gigaset's best-in-class quality level, enabling them to cut communications costs while improving user experience."
