MK Otniel Schneller (Kadima) was the most profligate MK in 2011, spending NIS 94,000, including NIS 15,000 on polls and NIS 25,000 on consultancy services, according to the Knesset's contact with voters budget, published today.
MK Raleb Majadele was in second place, spending NIS 84,000, including NIS 17,000 on websites. MK Talab El-Sana (Raam-Taal) was in third place, who spent NIS 83,000, followed by MK Robert Elitov (Yisrael Beitenu), who spent NIS 79,000, and MK Carmel Shama (Likud), who spent NIS 75,993.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spent NIS 1,830 last year, including NIS 893 on mail and NIS 973 on an internet subscription. Opposition leader MK Tzipi Livni (Kadima) spent NIS 43,496, including NIS 6,700 on newspapers and NIS 14,500 on a salary of an employee in transition. Yisrael Beitenu chairman and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman spent NIS 22,000.
Minister without Portfolio Benny Begin was the only MK to spend nothing.
