Pelephone launches unlimited calls for NIS 149 monthly

The mobile carrier kept the offer secret in order to take its competitors by surprise for Passover.

Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) mobile subsidiary Pelephone Communications Ltd. last night launched a subscription plan, which will cause a new storm in the telecommunications market: an unlimited calls and SMS plan for NIS 149 per month, as well as internet access and a free Galaxy Pro or Nokia C5 smartphone.

Pelephone has beaten its rivals Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) and Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) in responding to the pending entry of Mirs Communications Ltd. into the market in a couple months with a next-generation network, followed by the entry of Golan Telecom Ltd.

Pelephone kept the offer secret in order to take its competitors by surprise for Passover, and to exploit the high rating of the reality show "Big Brother" for the launch of the sales campaign. The carrier will offer simple plans, with no commitments, and with the option of transferring between plans. The plan includes unlimited calls and SMS for private use within Israel.
