Cows derail train

A train travelling from Tel Aviv to Beersheva hit a herd of cows near Lehavim.

A train travelling from Tel Aviv to Beersheva was derailed when it hit a herd of cows near Lehavim in the south. There are no reports of injuries from the incident, but all the cows were killed.

Many passengers were badly shaken by the collision, but none were injured. Large rescue forces were called to the scene, and rail traffic in the south has been temporarily halted.

Immediately after the incident, Israel Railways said in response, "A train travelling from Tel Aviv to Beersheva hit a herd of cows. A wheel that came off the track caused the train to derail. We are now examining ways to transport the passengers to their destinations, and the cows are being evacuated from the scene."
