Pitango partners to sell Apple importer iDigital

Chemi Peres and the other owners are asking NIS 200 million for iDigital.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Chemi Peres and the other owners of Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) authorized representative in Israel, iDigital Ltd. have put it up for sale at an asking price of NIS 200 million. The company has an estimated annual turnover of NIS 20 million.

Pitango Venture Capital managing general partners Nechemia (Chemi) Peres, Aaron Mankovski, Isaac Hillel, and Zeev Binman control iDigital. In 2009, they sold part of the chain to Shlomo Dovrat's Viola Group unit VPartners. iDigital CEO Eran Tor reportedly owns 10% of the company.

iDigital was founded in late 2007 to market Apple products in Israel. It is the sole authorized representative in Israel, except for iPhones, which are marketed by the mobile carriers. iDigital sells iPods, iPads, and Mac computers. The first store was opened at Tel Aviv's Ramat Aviv Mall in September 2008. Subsequent stores have been opened in Tel Aviv Dizengoff Center, Haifa's Grand Canyon Mall, and Cinema City in Rishon LeZion.
