JFrog has raised $3.5 million in a series A round of funding from Gemini Israel Funds. The Netanya based start up, which has previously received a $1 million grant from the Chief Scientist, develops repository management solutions for the software market. Founded in 2008, the company raised $1 million in seed money when it was set up.
Gemini partner Yossi Sela will join JFrog's board of directors following the venture capital fund's investment.
JFrog was founded by CEO Shlomo Ben-Haim, chief architect Frederic Simon and CTO Yoav Landman. In 2009, it issued its first commercial product under the Artifactory brand name. Initially an open code product, Pro and Cloud versions today generate revenue, and are used by millions of programmers worldwide, and over 250 companies including Apple, Intel, Twitter, LinkedIn, Nokia and Motorola.
The new funds will be used to speed up product development, develop new products, and set up a US subsidiary.
