Tel Aviv's Turkish Embassy building to become hotel

Conversion of the building is part of a plan to add 300 new hotel rooms on Tel Aviv seafront.

The Tel Aviv Regional Planning and Building Commission has approved for deposit plans for adding 300 hotel rooms along Tel Aviv's seafront Hayarkon St. One of the plans is for converting the Turkish Embassy building into a hotel. The Tel Aviv Local Planning and Building Commission approved the four plans two years ago.

Under the plan, the Turkish Embassy building at 202 Hayarkon Street will be rezoned as a hotel. The plan calls for adding two floors to the four store building, to create a 58-room hotel.

The second plan will increase the 40-room Imperial Hotel at 66 Hayarkon Street to 72 rooms, by renovating the building and adding three floors and a rooftop floor.

Under the third plan, Dan Gersht will establish a 78-room hotel in an existing building at 106 Hayarkon Street, at the corner of Frishman Street. Three floors will be added to the five-storey building, which currently offers short and long-term time leases for 39 rooms and suites.

Under the fourth plan, the 17 rooms will be added to the 52-room Hashalom Hotel at 216 Hayarkon Street.
