Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) has won a contract, which it describes as worth "many tens of millions of dollars" to supply Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to a customer in Latin America. The UAVs will be delivered over the next two years.
Elbit Systems will supply the UAVs universal ground control stations, and a variety of payloads and capabilities including electro-optical systems developed by El-Op, and intelligence, communications, multi-mode radar, and other sensors developed by the Elisra Division.
Elbit Systems UAS division general manager Elad Aharonson noted that the Israel Defense Forces and other armies use the Hermes 450 and Hermes 900. He added that the Hermes 900 was suitable for a wide variety of missions, from intelligence gathering, to perimeter and security missions.
Elbit Systems' share price rose 3% by midday on the TASE today to NIS 135.70, after rising 1.5% on Nasdaq on Friday to $33.53, giving a market cap of $1.4 billion.
