BIScience will use the financing for R&D and to expand to mobile and video.
Business intelligence start-up BIScience Ltd. has raised $3.5 million in its first financing round from Israel's CyHawk Ventures, Russia's Bright Capital, and private investor Zeev Lederman.
BIScience CEO Orey Gilliam founded the company in 2009. He previously served as the head of AOL Messaging and CEO of ICQ, before it was acquired by AOL in 1998. BIScience's leading product, AdClarity, monitors online ad campaigns of companies' competitors. The system monitors over half a million Internet pages in eight regions worldwide, including in the US, UK, and Australia, revealing rivals' strategies and monitoring market trends.
BIScience will use the financing for R&D and to expand to mobile and video. Currently in beta, the company will launch its media intelligence tool in New York in November.
