Fortissimo Capital today completed its acquisition of international roaming solutions developer Starhome BV from Comverse Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: CMVT), In August, Comverse announced that it sold Starhome for $80.3 million in cash.
Starhome, founded in 1999, has 220 employees, including 180 employees in Israel. Starhome's products are used by more than 200 mobile cerriers worldwide, including by 20 of the world's 30 largest carriers. More than 50% of global roaming traffic is handled by Starhome's technology.
Fortissimo managing partner Yuval Cohen said, "We are attracted to Starhome primarily due to its technological and market leadership. Our long term strategy includes investing in the further expansion of the product portfolio and increasing the customer base. Market dynamics, such as requirements arising from upgrading existing networks to 4G and LTE will further enhance the company's growth."
