Media texting co invi has raised $750,000 in seed funding from investors Li Ka-Shing's Horizons Ventures, Atlantic Bridge and Silicon Valley angels.
The start up was founded by Lior Gonnen and Iddo Tal and recently graduated the Silicon Valley accelerator for Israeli start-ups, UpWest Labs
invi also announced that its app is available from the Google Play store, but that it is only compatible with smartphones and tablets running either the Gingerbread version of Android or higher.
invi has developed next generation media texting allowing users to share pictures, add YouTube videos and much more to their text conversations, making their content more attractive and interactive.
Tal told "Techcrunch" that texting has become “totally unattached from what the smartphone can do. If someone wants to share an image from Pinterest or a video from YouTube, it’s a clunky experience. They’ll probably send you a link, which means you have to leave the conversation behind while you open up a browser or a separate app." Gonnen said, “We wanted to take the well-known texting experience and transform it into a slick, visual and engaging one, while keeping it super-fast and simple as texting should be. invi seamlessly integrates with Android, making sharing into and out of it easy and beautiful without interrupting the flow of the conversation.”
