Moshe Vidman appointed Mizrahi Tefahot chairman

Jacob Perry resigned his post last month to enter politics on Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid list for the Knesset.

The controlling shareholders of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF), the Ofer and Wertheim families, have found a successor to Jacob Perry as chairman: Moshe Vidman. Perry resigned his post last month to enter politics on Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid list for the Knesset.

Vidman has been appointed chairman tonight, replacing Moshe Wertheim, who has been serving as acting chairman since Perry's resignation. Vidman is a director at Mizrahi Tefahot Bank. He previously served as a director at Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI), where he was close to former chairman Eitan Raff.

Mizrahi Tefahot Bank CEO Eli Yones publicly refuted rumors that he was a candidate for the chairman's job. Other names mentioned included Migdal Insurance and Financial Holdings Ltd. (TASE: MGDL) chairman Aharon Fogel, former Clal Insurance Enterprises Holdings Ltd. (TASE: CLIS) CEO Shy Talmon, and former Israel Securities Authority chairman Moshe Tery.
