Gov't launches jobs training for gas industry

Courses will include training as systems operators, installation operators, and supervisors at various levels.

The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor yesterday opened courses for jobs training for the natural gas industry, which is expected to expand in the company. The jobs training will be based at institutions for higher education and private institutions, which are certified as meeting international standards and create a curriculum that will be supervised by the authorities.

The two ministries will help establish the necessary teaching structures. Graduates will receive certificates from the Ministry of Industry, allowing them to work in the natural gas industry and its ventures. Courses will include training as systems operators, installation operators, and supervisors at various levels.

Ministry of Industry Jobs Training Department manager Shalom Ben-Moshe said, "We are monitoring the needs of the economy and reviewing the changes and adjustments needed in jobs training to meet future needs for skilled workers. We expect through these programs to train hundreds of skilled workers over the coming year.

Natural Gas Authority senior coordinator Osnat Shochat said, "This is the first stage of training a skilled and certified workforce for jobs in the developing natural gas industry."
