DIY video platform developer PowToon has raised $600,000 from Startup Minds, a newly established Los Angeles based start up accelerator.

PowToon was founded in 2011 by Ilya Spitalnik and Daniel Zaturansky. The company has developed a code display program that allows anyone to simply make presentations and brief videos using animated characters. Powtoon's Freemium service provides users with templates from designers, animators, voice actors, and sound artists who sell using PowToon's marketplace. Videos can be uploaded to YouTube or linked to networks like Facebook and Twitter.

Startup Minds was founded in 2012 by Israeli Dr. David Gonen, co-founder of Ringadoc and Curious Minds incubator, and his family. Dr. Gonen recounts that he discovered PowToon on his own and said, "The singular options for formulating affordable and nontraditional selling material is mind-blowing."
