From today, El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) allows customers to reserve preferred seats in tourist class when making a reservation, similar to the Tourism Plus section services - for a fee. The preferred seats have more legroom because they are by the exits or cabin dividers.
Preferred seats cost $49 one-way on short and medium-haul flights, and $99 one-way on long-haul flights. It is also possible to reserve seats for $105 one-way on short and medium-haul flights, and $199 one-way on long-haul flights.
From today, preferred seats will also be sold to passengers who are not members of El Al's Top Platinum, Platinum, or Gold customer clubs, at the airport check-in. Seating is by a waiting list, determined by advanced registration at El Al's website.
It is now possible to reserve a preferred seats when purchasing a ticket, and 24 hours from registering for the class.
