The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.32% to 1,224.59 points, but the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.36% to 1,091.19 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.73% to 314.41 points. Turnover was NIS 539.9 million.
The TASE rose, despite mixed sessions on European markets and on Wall Street on Friday.
In the foreign currency market, options pointed to a 0.082% drop in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, compared with Friday's representative rate to NIS 3.681/$, and to a 0.06% drop in the shekel-euro exchange rate to NIS 4.907/€.
In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds were unchanged and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds fell by up to 0.3%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.01%.
In the stock market, EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: EZCH; TASE:EZCH) corrected upwards 2.5%, for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares, after plunging 18.2% on Thursday, while Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) corrected downward 1%, for the biggest loss among Tel Aviv 25 shares, and NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) was unchanged.
Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 2.2% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 35 million
On the Tel Aviv 100 Index, Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) fell another 3.1% and Babylon Ltd. (TASE:BBYL) fell another 0.2%, while Jerusalem Economy Ltd. (TASE:ECJM) (JEC) rose another 4.6%.
Elsewhere in the market Elbit Imaging Ltd. (Nasdaq: EMITF; TASE: EMIT) rose another 5.8% on top of last week's 50% gain on heavy trading for no discernible reason. Subsidiary Elbit Medical Technologies Ltd. (TASE:EMTC) rose 4.8%, after announcing that subsidiary InSightec Image Guided Treatment Ltd. obtained US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval to begin a Phase III clinical trial for one of its products.
Life sciences companies Biocancell Therapeutics Ltd. (TASE:BICL) rose 17.7%, IceCure Ltd. (TASE: ICCM) rose 8.2%, and InsuLine Medical Ltd. (TASE: INSL) rose 10.1%.
Netz Group Ltd. (TASE:NETZ) fell 6.2%, after buying the HSBC building in Miami Beach.
