The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.50% to 1,218.47 points, but the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.40% to 1,086.86 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.21% to 313.74 points. Turnover was NIS 796.1 million.
The TASE fell today, reversing yesterday's gains, despite mixed sessions on European markets while Wall Street was closed for Presidents Day.
In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.678/$, down 0.16% on Friday's rate, and set the shekel-euro exchange rate at NIS 4.914/€, up 0.07%.
In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds rose by up to 0.1% and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds rose by up to 0.3%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.16%.
In the stock market, Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 1.7% for the biggest loss among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Clal Finance cut its recommendation and target price for the share. Mobile carriers Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) and Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) fell 0.7% and 1.2%, respectively.
Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GLOB) rose 1% for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares.
On the Tel Aviv 100 Index, Babylon Ltd. (TASE:BBYL) fell 7.2% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 60 million, despite reporting that it tripled its revenue and net profit in 2012 to NIS 685 million and NIS 103 million, respectively.
Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) corrected upwards 0.6%, after a 9% drop in two days.
Pluristem Therapeutics Ltd. (Nasdaq:PSTI; DAX: PJT: PLTR) rose 2.5% and BiolineRX Ltd. (Nasdaq: BLRX); TASE:BLRX) rose 2.5%.
Modiin Energy LP (TASE:MDIN.L) fell 12.1%, while Elbit Imaging Ltd. (Nasdaq: EMITF; TASE: EMIT) rose another 11.4%
