Online software distribution company ironSource bought advertising technology and network company AfterDownload - both are Israeli companies.
Israeli online software distribution company ironSource Israel (2011) Ltd. has acquired Israeli advertising technology and network company AfterDownload Ltd. to expand its integrated distribution, installation and value-building tools for software developers, publishers and advertisers. Israeli media reports that the price was $28 million.
ironSource says that its InstallCore application distribution platform manages over 100 million installation a month, and has managed over 1.2 billion installations to date. The Tel Aviv-based company was founded in 2009 by COO Tamir Carmi. Investors included Viola Group unit Carmel Ventures.
"Together with ironSource, we can provide publishers and advertisers alike a more comprehensive package to maximize the download funnel,” said AfterDownload CEO Omer Kaplan.
Carmi said, "We have enjoyed cooperating with AfterDownload for over two and a half years and we are thrilled that they have joined the ironSource family."
