LG Corporation (KSX: 3550) importer Ronlight Ltd. will launch LG's new Optimus G smartphone, following the launches of the Nexus 4 and Optimus VU, at a price of NIS 3,000. LG will run a NIS 1 million marketing campaign on television, in newspapers, online, and on billboards.
The Optimus G has a unique feature for operating one application while running another in the background. For example, it is possible to watch video clips while responding to SMSs. It has an Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system with a quad 1.5-gigahertz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 2 gigabyte memory, 32-gigabyte storage which cannot be expanded with a card, a 2,100-milliamphere battery. LG says that the smartphone has aSMP technology for extending battery life.
The Optimus G has a WXGA True HD IPS 4.7-inch screen with 1,280 by 780 pixel resolution, G2 Touch Hybrid Display technology for no-reflection clear display even in direct sunlight. The screen has no design margins and a 3-millimeter frame. The smartphone is 8.45 millimeters thick, glass covered on both sides, and weighs 145 grams. It has a 13-megapixel resolution camera, which can be voice operated and can photograph and save several pictures before the final picture is taken.
