Photo sharing platform developer Pumpic has raised $700,000 in its first financing round from Tel Aviv incubator TheTime, owned by Ilan Shiloach.
The financing round comes as Pumpic has announced the Beta launch of its photo sharing platform, which enables users send, store and access photos in the cloud. The platform, which has been in alpha since early 2012, offers a powerful, simple and completely free way for users to upload and send unlimited amounts of high quality images across computers and mobile devices.
Pumpic claims that its platform maintains original image quality and offers users total control over their pictures and who sees them, and is a convenient way to store and access photos in the cloud. Pumpic says it offers users unlimited storage, unlimited access and continuous backup of images.
Pumpic also stresses the robustness of its privacy controls.
The platform allows users to send enormous image files with no waiting time or fees. Users can send up to 10,000 images - each up to 100 MB in size - instantaneously.
The company, which has six employees, was founded in 2012 by Hay Taub and Iko Hason.
Taub said, "We are tremendously excited to launch the Beta version of Pumpic, which we believe will transform the way consumers access, send and store digital pictures."
Hason said, "Our goal was to create a platform that offers simple, fast, safe and free photo sharing - and we are excited to release it to the public today."
