Most Israelis have more than one credit card, as well as numerous customer club and benefits cards for the purchase of goods at substantial discounts at stores and business across the country. Where does the problem begin? We don’t always know which discount or benefit we're eligible for were we to use the right card, and most cards merely take up space in our wallets.
This is where an Israeli app, PayZ comes into the picture. It has been available for iPhones for a while, and recently launched a version for Android devices. PayZ will update you about which card you should use, or at which business you should buy a particular product, in order to obtain the best price.
After a brief registration process, which can also be done via Facebook, you will be asked to provide your credit cards and customer club cards. Don’t worry; you do not have to disclose the cards' personal details, only state the kind of card, such as < Israel Credit Cards-Cal (Visa), American Express, Leumi Card, Hever, Shufersal, etc.
You will then receive the benefits to which you are entitled, and be able to navigate among the slew of benefits on the basis of your location or type of card. Alternatively, you can receive information on all the benefits offered by all the cards you own. You can also conduct a manual search by a type of business to find out whether they are offering any benefits relevant to you.
PayZ was founded in 2012 by brothers Michael and Tomer Eden. Michael Eden, who serves as CEO, says, "More than 35,000 benefits of this kind are offered in Israel - discounts of up to 50%. Because of the huge supply of often changing benefits and wide range of cards, there is great confusion among consumers, causing them to miss out and lose money. The app's goal is to sort out the mess and help consumers save money."
PayZ application is free for iPhone 4.3 or higher devices, and can be downloaded from Appstore, and for Android 2.2 or higher devices, and can be downloaded from Google Play.
