Haredi developer buys Jerusalem Romema lot for NIS 140m

The lot near the city's central bus station was bought by EKH and is zoned for 158 apartments in four buildings.

EKH Projects Maintenance Ltd., owned by haredi (ultra-orthodox) developer Eliahu Klein, has acquired the Amcor lot in Jerusalem for NIS 140 million, four times the NIS 32 million that the seller, Palgi Tal Ltd., originally paid for the land in 1999. The nine-dunam (1.75-acre lot) on Eheliab St. in Romema near the central bus station, is zoned for 158 apartments in four buildings.

A year ago, EKH bought the Haturim gas station on Jaffa Street in central Bank of Jerusalem (TASE: JBNK) from Yitzhak Tshuva's Delek Israel Fuel Corporation Ltd. (TASE: DLKIS) for NIS 48 million. The lot is zoned for a 10,000-square meter residential and commercial project. In March 2011, EKH bought the plant of Rafa Laboratories Ltd. on Toval St. in Jerusalem for NIS 22 million, after the company moved to new premises in Har Hotzvim, and in July 2011, EKH and two partners bought the Kadouri lot in the capital for NIS 266 million.
