Many users of Waze's new 3.7 version of its navigation app for iPhones and Android devices, launched on Thursday, have complained that the platform is unstable on Android devices. There are no known complaints from iPhone owners.
The users say that that the app crashes when they try to set a route, erases the address book from the list of preferences, and that the software repeatedly jams. They also say that they cannot reinstall the older, functioning version of the app. Most of the complaints come from users of Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3 smartphones.
Waze said that it will release an update to the 3.7 version in a few days.
The Waze 3.7 includes several upgrades, including navigation to Facebook events, sending the address to other guests, and showing who has already arrived.
Waze also redesigned the pop-up notifications and allows direct Foursquare check-in from the report menu, the ability to lock up north, and support for JVC App Link Mode.
