The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.24% to 1,225.11 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.39% to 1,097.38 points, but the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.39% to 302.88 points. Turnover was NIS 496.7 million.
The TASE rose today on very thin trading, in line with gains on European markets and on Wall Street on Friday.
In the foreign currency market, options pointed to a 0.15% fall in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, compared with Friday's representative rate, to NIS 3.596/$, and to a 0.07% rise in the shekel-euro exchange rate to NIS 4.804/€
In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds rose by up to 1.5% and long term Galil CPI-linked government ranged between falls of 0.2% and rises of 0.9%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.36%.
In the stock market, the positive sentiment was led by Perrigo Company (Nasdaq:PRGO; TASE:PRGO), which rose by 2.4%.
Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) fells 1.9% after reporting that it had sold 2 million shares (3.4%) of subsidiary Delek US Holdings Inc. (NYSE:DK) for $64 million.
First International Bank of Israel (TASE: FTIN) rose 0.2% on the day it joined the Tel Aviv 25 Index , while Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 0.8% and Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 0.2%. The Banking Index rose 0.4% today.
Migdal Insurance and Financial Holdings Ltd. (TASE: MGDL) also joined the Tel Aviv 25 Index today, rising 1.2%. The Insurance Index rose 2.4%.
Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT) rose 1% after announcing that it has successfully raised NIS 500 million in a share offering.
Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX), which was relegated from the Tel Aviv 25 Index, rose 3.7% on the day's highest trading turnover of NIS 29 million. EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: EZCH; TASE:EZCH) was the other company relegated.
Eden Springs Ltd. (Maayanot Eden) (TASE: MEYD) fell 7% after reporting that it had sold its operations for €70 million.
