Ehud Barak appointed consultant to Swiss bank Julius Baer

"Yediot Ahronot": The former defense minister has been appointed special consultant to the Swiss Bank's office in Israel.

Former Minister of Defense Ehud Barak may have quit politics, but he is definitely not sitting at home with nothing to do. Hebrew daily "Yediot Ahronot" reports that Barak has been appointed as a special consultant to the Israeli office of Swiss bank Julius Baer Group Ltd. (SWX: BAER).

Julius Baer founded the bank that bears his name in 1890, and it is currently managed by his descendants. It specializes in private banking, including family wealth management, and is represented in 20 countries.

In early 2012, Julius Baer opened an office in Israel. "Yediot Ahronot" says that Barak will help it establish business ties with Israel's wealthiest people.
