National Lottery revenue up

Mifal Hapayis posted NIS 2.9 billion revenue in the first half of 2013, 14% more than in the corresponding half of 2012.

Israel's betting industry is flourishing. Mifal Hapayis, the Israel national lottery, today announced that it posted NIS 2.9 billion revenue in the first half of 2013, 14% more than in the corresponding half of 2012.

Mifal Hapayis's top game in the first half was lotto, with NIS 777 million revenue, 33% more than the NIS 584 million in the corresponding half. Hishgad revenue rose 2% to NIS 718 million in the first half from NIS 706 million in the corresponding half. Revenue from Chance rose 17% to NIS 683 million from NIS 582 million.

"Mifal Hapayis's report for the first half of 2013 shows that revenue continues to grow. Mifal Hapayis reported record revenue of NIS 2.9 billion in the first half, up from NIS 2.5 billion in the corresponding period of last year, growth of 14%," said Mifal Hapayis Eli Dadon.

Dadon added, "We are pleased to conclude the first half with growth across all parameters. Revenue growth enables us to substantially increase Mifal Hapayis's investments in the community."

Dadon said that Mifal Hapayis allocated NIS 467 million in the first half for initiatives in local authorities, the highest semiannual amount in Mifal Hapayis's history.
