Nochi Dankner scours the world for investors

Market sources believe that Dankner is holding three simultaneous sets of talks with potential investors.

IDB Holding Corp. Ltd. (TASE:IDBH) chairman Nochi Dankner is scouring the world for investors in order to keep his control of the company, which bondholders threaten to take away under a debt settlement. Market sources believe that Dankner is holding three simultaneous sets of talks with potential investors.

The first set of talks with is with Argentinian businessman Eduardo Elsztain, who has already made several trips to Israel, and openly supported Dankner at a press conference. IDB Holding CEO Haim Gavrieli and Dankner's son, Omer, have gone to New York to meet Elsztain, who, in July, withdrew a planned investment in Ganden Investments Ltd., through which Dankner controls IDB, because of the prolonged legal proceedings over the company.

Dankner is also in talks with Ukrainian-Jewish businessman Alex Granovsky, and with a haredi (ultra-orthodox) accountant in New York, David Waldler.
