Golani Interchange dedicated

Transport Minister Yisrael Katz said, "Within a few years you will be able to drive from Kiryat Shmona to Tel Aviv and the Negev without passing through a single traffic light.

The Golani Interchange in the Galilee was officially dedicated today by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The NIS 300 million project is north of Afula and west of Tiberias at the junction of Roads 65 and 77 and is considered the gateway to the Upper Galilee. The road was opened last month and has already enormously eased the weekend and holiday congestion for Galilee vacationers.

The interchange is part of a NIS 27.5 billion project to link Kiryat Shmona to Road 6 and the center of the country.

Transport Minister Yisrael Katz said, "Within a few years you will be able to drive from Kiryat Shmona to Tel Aviv and the Negev without passing through a single traffic light. The Golani Interchange is the first of seven interchanges being built along Road 77."
