Unemployment figures were unchanged in September 2013. There was no change in the number of unemployed, compared with August, and the number of newly unemployed registering with the Israel National Employment Service remained stable.
The number of unemployed registering with the Employment Service, in trend figures, was flat in September, at 199,900 people, compared with 200,000 in August (after an average monthly increase of 0.5% since the beginning of 2012).
The number of newly unemployed registering with the Employment Service fell by 0.7% in trend figures in September compared with August, to 12,300 people (after an average monthly fall of 0.5% in the four preceding months).
Central Bureau of Statistics data for August indicate show a gradual decline in the unemployment rate from 6.9% in January 2012 to 6.3% in August 2013.
