The global R&D center will bring together seven Makhteshim Agan product development sites in Israel, Europe, North America and Asia.
Agrochemicals manufacturer Makhteshim Agan Industries Ltd. today laid the cornerstone of its new global R&D center at the Neot Hovav eco-industrial park in the Negev. The new facility is due to be completed in two years, and the laboratories will be ready for work in 18 months.
The R&D center will serve as a hub to bring together seven Makhteshim Agan product development sites in Israel, Europe, North America and Asia. It will have over 100 researchers, including chemical engineers and chemists, who will formulate innovative crop protection solutions to simplify farming. The center will be built next to a newly constructed pilot facility that will allow the site to efficiently upscale from lab to production at one of the company's 11 production facilities.
"We are consistently working towards the implementation and development of advanced technologies in chemistry and environmental protection," said Makhteshim Agan SVP global resources Eli Abramov. "The new global center is another milestone in our strategic plan to strengthen Makhteshim Agan's R&D and manufacturing capabilities. This continued investment will support the growth and differentiation of our product portfolio to deliver reliable solutions to farmers."
