Filipina caregiver Rose Fostanes won the X-Factor season finale on Channel 2. The finals secured 1.04 million viewers on Tuesday night. The reality show of Channel 2 franchisee Reshet Television Ltd. achieved an average rating of 38.4% of Jewish households, and peaked at 42.1%.
47 year-old Fostanes who came to Israel four years ago, won the final with her rendition of Frank Sinatra's 'My Way.' She was mentored by Israeli popular singer Shiri Maimon.
X-Factor had an average of 894,000 viewers per episode for the season, and a rating of 47.8%.
The sportsperson of the year show, aired at the same as X-Factor on Channel 10, achieved a rating of 4.4%.
Reshet's ratings demonstrated the importance of primetime viewership into the nighttime shows, where Channel 2 beat Channel 10, after two bad nights. Channel 2 News's ratings were more than double that of Channel 10 News - 25.5% to 10%.
The X-Factor finals ended the first talent show in 2014. The audience who watched the finals of Rising Star of Channel 2's other franchisee, Keshet Broadcasting, in late 2013, was larger: 1.13 million viewers and a rating of 40.3% of Jewish households.
