Flug nominates Dr. Nadine Trajtenberg as BoI deputy governor

Canadian-born Dr. Nadine Baudot-Trajtenberg is the wife of Prof. Manuel Trajtenberg, who chaired the committee on the cost of living.

Governor of the Bank of Israel Dr. Karnit Flug has recommended Dr. Nadine Baudot-Trajtenberg as Deputy Governor. She is the wife of Prof. Manuel Trajtenberg, who chaired the committee on the cost of living, which was established in response to the social protest of 2011.

The Advisory Committee on Senior Public Service Appointments (the Turkel Committee) and the government have to approve the appointment. As Deputy Governor, Dr. Baudot-Trajtenberg will also serve as a member of the Bank of Israel’s Monetary Committee and Supervisory Council

Canadian-born Dr. Nadine Baudot-Trajtenberg earned a BSc in Economics from Universite de Montreal, an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Economics from Harvard University, where her advisor was Dr. Lawrence Summers. Her areas of academic interest are public finance and macroeconomics. Since 2010 she has served as Deputy Dean of the School of Economics at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, after previously holding several positions at Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI).
