Israel's average monthly wage in June: NIS 10,884

Average pay in information and communications was NIS 19,943.

The average monthly wage in Israel in June 2018 was NIS 10,884, according to figures published today by the Central Bureau of Statistics. This compares with NIS 10,136 in May and NIS 10,379 in April. The average monthly pay of foreign workers in Israel in June was NIS 6,181.

Israel has nearly 3.7 million salaried jobs. Two thirds of these jobs were in sectors in which the average wage was lower than the general average, such as hospitality and food services (NIS 4,743 per month), arts, entertainment, and recreation (NIS 6,217), health and social welfare (NIS 10,217), and education (NIS 10,277).

The sector with the highest wages was information and communications (NIS 19,943 per month). The average monthly wage in the governmental sector (government, National Insurance Institute, national institutions, local authorities, and public non-profit organizations) was NIS 13,313.

The Central Bureau of Statistics also looked specifically at the high-tech sector - service and industrial jobs - where the average wage in June was NIS 21,641, slightly higher than in May (NIS 21,439). High-tech accounted for 8.4% of all jobs in Israel.
