Sun: Buoyant Teva lifts TASE

Teva rose strongly on approval of its migraine drug, Opko clawed back some of last week's losses and the mobile carriers rose strongly.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 1.58% to 1,653.48 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 1.41% to 1,486.42 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 1.02% to 389.09 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.09% to 348.25 points. Trading turnover was NIS 595.5 million.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.308% at NIS 3.564/$ from Friday's rate and set the shekel-euro rate up 0.327% at 4.171/€.

On the market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 8.75% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index on the day's biggest trading turnover, after the FDA approved its branded migraine treatment. Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) rose 6.35% after losing 35% last week. Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) rose 8.41% and Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) rose 7.81%. Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF) rose 2.61% and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 1.11%.

Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) fell 0.08%.
