Israeli businessman Robinson was jailed in 2016 for fraud.

Sources inform "Globes" that Israeli businessman Freddy Robinson, who began to serve a prison sentence last May after being convicted of several offences in connection with his various roles in real estate developer Milomor, will be released at the beginning of October.

According to the information in our possession, Robinson was informed today by the Release Committee at Maasiyahu Prison, where he is being held, that his application for early release had been accepted.

Robinson's application to the committee followed the decision by President Reuven Rivlin to accept Robinson's appeal for a pardon. Rivlin reduced Robinson's sentence to seven months and 29 days, in the framework of an amnesty program agreed with Minister of Justice Ayelet Shaked as part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. Robinson's release is subject to a number of restrictions, among them reporting to a police station every two weeks and a continuing rehabilitation program.

Robinson was convicted in 2016 of illegal transfer of tens of millions of shekels from Dawn of the Millenium Corporation to its parent company, Milomor. Robinson was a dominant figure in both companies, as controlling shareholder, chairman and CEO.
