Wed: Bezeq leads TASE higher

Bezeq and Phoenix rose strongly today but Teva led the declines.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.62% to 1,578.36 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 0.67% to 1,436.34 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 0.02% to 380.16 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index fell 0.02% to 349.76 points. Trading turnover was NIS 1.20 billion.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.386% at NIS 3.617/$ from Tuesday's rate and set the shekel-euro rate up 0.178% at 4.103/€.

On the market, Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 5.04% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index today on the day's biggest trading turnover. The Phoenix Holdings Ltd. (TASE: PHOE1;PHOE5) rose 3.42% and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 1.47%. Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 0.59%, Shufersal Ltd. (TASE:SAE) rose 0.96% and Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) rose 0.71%.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 2.23% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 35 Index. Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) fell 0.54% and NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) fell 0.10%.
