12 Israeli digital healthcare start-ups to visit US

The BIRD - Ministry of Economy start-up delegation will meet with major US hospitals and companies.

The Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation, a cooperative effort of the US and Israel, and the Israel Ministry of Economy Foreign Trade Administration are organizing a delegation of Israeli digital healthcare companies to visit the US on May 18-22. The delegation will meet with leading parties in the US, including representatives of major hospitals and representatives of companies like Samsung, Medtronic, Sanofi, Mckesson, Google Ventures, Novartis Ventures, Comcast Ventures, etc.

The delegation includes representatives from 12 Israeli startups, including Consumer Physics (which develops consumer devices for analyzing food composition), Healarium (a system for monitoring, indicating, and improving motivation for health behavior), HealthWatch Technologies (wearable medical monitoring devices), Kyma Medical (a non-invasive device for monitoring pulmonary insufficiency), LifeonKey (a personal medical record), medCPU (decision-support systems), Medisafe Project (reminders to take medication), Medivizor (personalized medical information in understandable language for the general public), Sweetch (personalized guidance for patients at risk of developing diabetes), Telesofia (clips for communicating medical information), Totally (a pregnancy management application), and Tyto Care (a device for online medical tests from the patient's home).

Israel Economic Minister to North America Nili Shalev said, "The US health system is undergoing dramatic changes. There is a major focus on innovation aimed at streamlining the health system, improving coordination between the various parties, and reinforcing the patient's involvement in his treatment. In view of the fact that Israel is one of the most advanced countries in the world in the integration of information technologies in medicine, there is great business potential and possibilities for cooperation between the parties."

BIRD business development director Limor Nakar-Vincent added, "The Foundation is glad to promote meetings between US and Israeli companies, and to provide funding and advice for joint digital healthcare ventures."
