The plan comprises five residential buildings and commercial space at the corner of Herzl and Jabotinsky Streets.
The Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee has approved the construction of 310 apartments for the clear and build urban renewal plan at the National Insurance Institute lot in the center of Ramat Gan. The plan, which will add 200 apartments to the current number of homes there, was promoted by the Ramat Gan Local Planning and Building Committee.
The lot concerned covers 7,300 square meters in 11 parcels of land between Herzl and Jabotinsky Streets. The current site has 96 apartments and a small hotel. The plan involves their demolition and the construction of five apartment towers with 310 residential units. Two of the towers will have 30 floors and 110 apartments each above commercial , while three towers of seven floors each are planned with 30 apartments each and 7,200 square meters of commercial space on Herzl Street. 20% of the apartments will be small in size with no more than 75 square meters to improve supply of inexpensive apartments.
The existing buildings could apply for TAMA 38 earthquake retrofit status in which case the new plans would not apply.
