A few minutes ago, at about 16:00, a deafening explosion took place
in the heart of Tel-Aviv's Dizengoff Center shopping mall. Ten fatal
casualties and 65 injured are reported, of these twenty are listed in
critical condition.
The explosion, evidently the work of a suicide bomber, took place at
the junction of Dizengoff and King George Streets.
Eye witnesses report that a number of fatal casualties are being
evacuated. Dizengoff Centre, a big shopping mall in central Tel-Aviv,
was densely crowded at the time due to the Purim holiday.
Forty-seven of the injured were evacuated to Ichilov Hospital,
thirteen of whom are listed in critical condition. An additional
six injured were brought to Tel Hashomer Hospital.
The area has been evacuated by security forces, who fear the possibility of
additional explosions.
