Arab Lobby in US Calls for Boycott of Days Inn Due to Hotel in Occupied Gaza

An Israeli source working in the US hotel industry told "Globes" that the lobby’s threat has no teeth.

A pro-Arab lobby in Washington called on Arab Americans and Palestinian sympathizers to boycott Days Inn hotels to protest the Days Inn - Palm Beach Hotel in Gush Katif, Gaza. The Arab Anti-Defamation League claims that opening the hotel in Gaza violates international law which forbids commercial exploitation of occupied territory.

Days Inn did not issue an official response, but a source in the company’s management told US reporters that the hotel in Gush Katif is owned by Days Inn’s Israeli franchisee. The chain itself has no say regarding this hotel.

An Israeli source working in the US hotel industry told "Globes" that the lobby’s threat has no teeth. According to the source, the boycott call is part of the infighting among Arab Americans as to which entity will become the voice of the Arab American public. The boycott call will not have any influence on Days Inn’s management.
