Likud ministers and MKs applied heavy pressure during the morning on Minister Michael Eitan in an attempt to dissuade him from resigning from the committee, which was supposed to have its first session today.
This was after Yitzhak Regev and Moshe Dolgin, confidantes of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Avigdor Leiberman, applied pressure to get Eitan to resign from the committee. Yitzhak Regev even presented a petition to the Likud Tribunal requesting the Eitan be made to resign.
