BVR To Supply Ehud Systems to Italian Air Force for $10 Mln

BVR won out over Israel Aircraft Industries and Metric, its partner in other projects.

BVR, developer of "Ehud" ACMI (air combat manoeuvring instrumentation) systems, won out over Israel Aircraft Industries in the tender for the supply of aerial combat training debriefing systems for the Italian Air Force. The $10 million tender includes options for future expansion in the next few years.

BVR competed in this tender against Metric, which has partnered it in other projects. BVR will co-operate in the Italian tender with another partner, BGT of Germany. The two companies will supply Ehud systems mounted on fighter planes, which collate all flight data and enable accurate reconstruction of the details of the flight.

The Italian contract provides that the German company will be the principal supplier. The airborne components of the debriefing system will be supplied at the initial stage, followed, later, by ground receiver stations and options for data transmission systems operating in real time from the aircraft to the debriefing centre.
